Re: What is hands down the MOST...

No love for the Poison Adrena / Glorious? Pretty light, balanced and sensitive imo. Right up there for sure.

Re: Painting Reels

Rarebreed. I'm sending one to him soon. Reel will go to the Tackletrap to be broke down, cleaned and tuned, then pikeroadbassin will send it to him for paint. If you Google search Rarebreed reel painting some of his work will show up under images.

Re: One reel to rule them all

TD-Z in one of it's glorious variations, an I'ze Factory Personal Order to be exact, left handed with the brass 7:1 conversion kit installed, carbontex drag washers installed, and a set of ZPI spool bearings installed, any variety of Daiwa swept 90mm handles , a Zillion Type R star , and an about t...

This with an SV spool. Slp 1012 to be exact. If I had a personal order with these mods, I'm not sure it would ever leave my hands.

Re: Action vs. Soft Tip vs. Taper

"Action" and "taper" are more or less synonymous but people often use "action" when describing a rod's power too. That situation is an improper use of the term "action". The term "soft tip" refers two how easily the tip of the rod loads during a cas...

Wow. I didn't know this. Are the 2 piece only available in the production models, or are the blanks only available for purchase? Thx

Re: Reel Handle Knobs

The knob post screws need to be tightened down snug or they will work their way loose. You have to find the perfect amount of shims for it to work right. Put the shims on the post 1st before the bearing. There shouldn't be any play between the knobs and handle, yet it should spin freely in both dire...

Re: ?? NEW BLANK ???

Are you looking for a blank to build on (rodbuilding section), or a production rod? As for a high end 2 piece blank, I've searched high and low to no avail. The Major Craft ms-x is a ready to go rod that checks all your boxes except being manufactured in the US. The Jackall Poison Adrena may be anot...

Re: Weight difference - Steez SV

The 8.1 is a solid reel with brass gears, that would serve well for just about anything. I wouldn't use it for super duper heavy applications, but I'd use it for heavier structure before I'd use the Steez SV TW. I was pleasantly surprised and more than satisfied upon receiving mine, and I wasn't sur...

I love these rods. One of the few production rods that's ever peeked my interest. For 150 bucks, it's a steal

Re: Daiwa SV series: please rank!

I'm wondering if the Zillion is worth it over the Tatula? I have a Zillion currently that hasn't seen any use and have three SV103's along with an SS SV. Should I exchange the Zillion for a Steez SV and pay the extra or get credited and get a Tatula with some change left over. Then there is the Ste...
