Re: First Look Inside the New, all ALUMINUM Daiwa Steez A TW 1016 Baitcasting Reel

So far I love it. After some tweaking I get great distance using 1/4 to 1/2 ounce. The reel feels super smooth and handles fish like a champ. I primarily fish salty inshore water and have not gotten a big enough one to really put it to the test.

You stole those rods! Great prices. Not sure which kistler model you were using, but you should feel an improvement in sensitivity.

Re: First Look Inside the New, all ALUMINUM Daiwa Steez A TW 1016 Baitcasting Reel

Got mine today and have already switched the handle out. I will get it out this weekend to play with it. This is my first Steez since I normally am a saltwater fisherman I could not use the magnesium version. I will say that so far the real feels awesome. We will see what happens after a couple of o...

Tatula SV and a Dobyns 735 would be a great setup and should fall in your price range.

Re: Confused

If I am not mistaken, the size of spinning reels is based on the spool and not the actual size of the body. So in theory you could have a 3000 spool on a physically smaller body. I could be wrong, but this is the way I understand it to be.

Costa with 580 glass lenses (saltbreak, Man-o-war, or Fisch fames fit my big head well), Revo, and Maui Jim are my favorite brands.

Re: Looking for backpack suggestions.

I have an older GLoomis backpack that I have used and abused for several years and it is still holding up fine. It is discontinued, but if you can get your hands on one, you will not be disappointed. I also have a Wild River backpack that is relatively new to me and it is also a great pack. It also ...

30 bucks is normally about what I pay. Always use a PVC pipe if possible. I have seen even the tough TW cardboard tubes not survive.
