Looking for a Hip Bag

Postby freelancer27 » Mon Jan 30, 2017 1:45 am

Hi guys,

I have been using a 20USD Hip Bag for the last 2 years and while it was ok it is slowly getting to the end of its life and I want to replace it that offers more functionality and quality.

What I am basically looking for is a hip bag where I can get 2 3500 utility boxes in and still have plenty of space for other stuff (bottle pouch, etc).

The two that I like so far are these:

DEPS TARPAULIN HIP BAG

and

G4 PRO® HIP PACK

I am wondering if you guys have experience with any of those bags and/or have recommendations for similar ones.

Thank ya much!

Check out Simms. Very high quality. I have a hip pack, sling pack, and had a vest for storage as well as piles of clothing.
I like TD-Z's

Also check out the WFO Trek Pack. Although the zippers aren't the highest quality, you have a ability to bring two extra rods with you. I'm on my 2nd one in about 5-6 years.

I would go with the G4 out of the two choices.

Simms makes excellent gear, they also use YKK zippers and thats a big deal to me.

I have a Simms headwaters sling pack I use when I wade fish and I love it....
I kinda stick with simms and Patagonia.

Patagonia, orvis, umpqua and fishpond all make excellent gear.
