kistler jerkbait

Postby JR J » Mon Feb 28, 2011 2:08 am

i wanna buy this rod kistler MgTWJBM68 for jerkbaits and small poppers in 1/4 to 1/2 oz, sammys, pop max, bonnie, pop-r, vision 95, staysee and other. I"ll pair it up with a premier.
have you guys used this rod? will it do the job?
does the premier cast well this kind of lures, from 1/4 to 1/2 oz?

I have a Kistler MGTWJBM68 and a Dobyns Champion 684. You can't go wrong with the Kistler for jerkbaits and topwater baits. The handle is shorter than the Champion 684 which makes it that much easier to work the rod without the handle hitting your forearm. It has a great action and plenty of power for jerks and topwaters. I say get the Kistler. Mine is paired with a Curado E. I'm sure the premier would be even better on it.

thanks, i"ll buy this one finnaly.
i have also heard that the 2008 model has some problems with the real seat, about being narrower then other reel seats. is that true? because i haven"t seen the rod yet.

Hi, does anyone still own a Kistler Magnesium MGTWJBM68?
I have one of these rod bought as second hand but it's actually shorter than 6'8", I'm trying to understand if it has been shortened or not. It is approximately 6'6" long, the guide scaling looks good so I think that if someone modified it, he had to take the second guide apart; now it has 8 guides, does anyone know if originally it had 9 or what?

I sold mine a while back. My PB was caught on it. Try posting on Kistlers website in their forum.

Thanks, I think I already tried, but to be sure I sent a new topic right now and it's waiting to "be added after moderation". I think they have closed their forum: the newest post has been posted in 2013
