Re: Supercharging Tow Vehicle
I love adding power, but with any vehicle when it comes to more power or load the enemy is heat. By itself (not towing anything) you will love the addon. Positive displacement blowers add so much low end torque you barely have to give it any gas to accelerate. It will feel like you threw a big block...

Re: Zillion HD 8.1 versus Zillion G 8.5
You may want to try Plat again, they have recently opened up all the gearsets for purchase on the website, including the magsealed reels. I know for a while they were all unavailable for purchase but it seems like that is no longer the case.

Re: Shimano says no to nylon on CC BFS and Aldebaran BFS?
I have 4lb original stren on my aldebaran and have ever since I had it (when they were first released). No issues thus far.

Re: Shimano Aldebaran BFS XG
You can fit the other 50e series gears in it but need to turn down the nub on the 50e pinion gear to where it is a flat surface. The sideplate of the bfs series is thinner so the nub on the pinion gear will hit the outer spool bearing before allowing the clutch to disengage the spool. So yes the 50e...

Re: Jackson Super trickster 64L
I used to have this rod, sweet spot was 1/16-3/16 for the 64L. I wouldn't do well with 1/4 with trailer however. The rod was an excellent rod, sensitive and weighed well under 3oz. I used it mainly for bfs bottom bouncing but could use it in a pinch with topwater, jerkbaits and small cranks when I o...

Re: Crisp UL trout spinning rod recommendations
I owned the MC days sfs 6'3" UL spinning rod with the solid tip and even though it was rated as a bass rod it did very well with trout in the 1-3lb range. I've had a few St. Croix UL rods and the MC was a much more responsive blank. The new days 360 is coming out and the t1100g blank will make for a...

Re: Best all around Daiwa Casting Reel ?
Today I think the best all around Daiwa would be the 21 zillion. Size, weight, cost to performance and being able to use all the oldie but goodie spools. And it's a Daiwa that's easy to get parts for and customize. All equals a winner in my book.

Re: Daiwa SS Air TW
Looks like Shimano FTB  The Gekka TW was a disappointment which 28mm spool is too small and couldn't cast far enough. Hopefully this is better but I am not too positive for its again 28mm spool. I do not like some BFS freaks who claimed to need to cast 1gram or 0.1gram. 2~3gram being the...

Re: Honest opinions...is BFS really worth trying?
Both my 721 and 662 edge bfs rods are full grip and I love it that way. If I we’re going for 1/8-1/4 I’d go ML all the way.

Re: BFS rod
I’ve not owned a bfs rod that short. I had a custom 6’1” rod built off a phenix mirage trout blank and that one was a riot with just about anything on the end of the line. I’ve had my share of MC rods and love them all.

Re: Do you trust aluminum gears?
I was disappointed that the new Conquest BFS has aluminum gears, I was hoping for brass gears, however I have an 18 Aldebaran BFS and an older Aldebaran MG7 with aluminum gears and have had no problems with either one, both have been smooth reels over the years so maybe I shouldn’t worry about it. ...

Re: Major Craft Days 360
seems that the prices have doubled from the existing Days series It appears so, but fwiw the better blank, titanium framed guides and the few extra glamor pieces make it more like a reincarnated msx than than a days series rod. I was thinkin' the same too. I wonder if they'll make other bass lines ...

Re: Honest opinions...is BFS really worth trying?
I will agree wholeheartedly that bfs is an addiction within an addiction and to get a taste of it you need to do it correctly. The rod is just as important as the reel with bfs. A true bfs reel with a rod that can't load with the light lures will just end up with you in frustration and saying "I don...
