Re: Cork reel grips
You could always buy an Avail handle for your Aldebaran from Hedgehog Studios and it will accept the Megabass knobs but I am not sure if it will come with the required shims and spacers.

Re: Any Panfish Enthusiast On TackleTour?
Thanks for explaining. I've never owned a solid tip before. I've heard they weren't as sensitive because the softer tip dampens some of the vibrations. That's one reason, I've never been too interested in trying one. I was fishing with little 1.5g jig heads with Panfish Magnet plastics and 3LB Snip...

Re: Any Panfish Enthusiast On TackleTour?
How do you like the solid tip compared to a regular tip? I've noticed solid tip rods are very popular in Japan. mrpao, I like what Hobie said about liking a solid tip if the solid portion bends with the tubular part of the blank. This one does not do that. The solid part goes all the way to the 6th...

Re: Any Panfish Enthusiast On TackleTour?
https://i.postimg.cc/bvs06rp3/IMG-4234.jpg John G, what rod are you using? It's a Shimano Poison Glorious 5'10"UL-S with a Shimano Twin Power C2000SHG. The S is for a Solid Tip. I realized that after I ordered it and I tried to get a refund from Japan Angler but I was told that it had already been ...

Re: History behind the low profile casting reel...
I don't know if this should be it's own post, it's somewhat on topic- I'd love to see Shimano do a "re-issue" of the original Bantam. Visually the same, but with all the modern engineering inside. Modern cut gears, bearings, materials, etc. Looks like a vintage Bantam, feels/performs like a Conques...

Re: Shimano BFS oil
I was searching posts about Ambassadeurs a while back and I read where tincanary said that he is using Yamaha 80W90 Gear Oil on worm gears and how it really sticks to them and a plus is that it is also a marine gear oil so it's waterproof. I bought a quart and I have to say that he is 100% correct ...

Re: Are we all poor?
I'm not exactly poor but I ain't rich either. I've bought plenty of fishing stuff last year and this year but I drew the line at buying an old Ambassadeur 1500C. A really nice one with the box and paperwork will cost an arm and a leg so I am not buying one. I only wanted a single really nice basic ...

Re: Are we all poor?
Do they come in lefty versions 😄 Search eBay for Shimano Bantam 201. There may be more left-handed models but that's what I've been able to come up with so far that I think you can buy an Avail spool for. You can either check out the Avail or the Hedghog Studio website for more info. You want to ma...

Re: GLX MBR843C vs GLX MBR842C for T-rigs
With everyone recommending the 843, I'm wondering how I ever caught a fish on a T Rig with a L powered Shimano BFS rod and 7LB Sniper.
I used to own the OG 843IMX and the OG 842GLX and I would have no issues at all with using the 842 for T Rigs.

The Raid Japan Bull Tank is cool and effective and so is the Two Side although I rarely use mine.

Re: RAID JAPAN - Baits
Picked up a Dodge on sale a few weeks back and finally got to try it out yesterday. I was throwing it on 40lb braid and was having some issue with it rolling over. Not a huge deal, maybe there was some twist in the line or maybe I should use a swivel. I got one bite but missed em somehow. I could s...
