Re: Bass Fishing Not Very Popular?

Bass fishing is popular. I loved fishing for bass during 3 months in North Carolina, 2013. It was great. Met many people on fishing trips and still have 1 US kayak fishing friend that I still follow on social media etc.- bass sure look popular also in 2023. Wish we had bass in Scandinavia. Sadly, we...

Re: Daiwa steez a tw 2016 spool question

I'm looking for the best spool for bait 4-18 grams, PE line 1.5 100 meters. Hello! I think you must put KKR T31M spool in your list: http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=67159&p=724027#p724027 http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=67159&start=1110#p724678 I imagine that they beha...

Re: Daiwa steez a tw 2016 spool question

Of the ones you mention, I would also go with rcs 1012.
However, I would also consider ZPI and Roro spools etc.

Looks good. Hyper is out, ultimate is in. I think I will wait for TT user judgments.

Re: Honest opinions...is BFS really worth trying?

I never used the stock spool, but the diy spool casts a 1/8 oz rat-l-trap as far as I'd ever need it to go. That diy spool actually holds a little more line than my 32mm Alphas sv tw stock spool, despite the alphas spool being 32mm o.d. and the diy spool being 28mm o.d. I have the SV version. The f...

Re: Brand Loyalty?

It's more brand "trust" for me, and over the years the list of brands I trust has grown and a couple have fallen off the list. Lost faith in modern Penn and Ambassadors mostly. I still have, use, and love some older stuff from both of them though. I've also picked up Quantum and Okuma spinners that...

Re: Shimano says no to nylon on CC BFS and Aldebaran BFS?

Thanks. I figured nylon isn't optimal for relatively fragile spools. To those who're using CC BFS or Aldebaran BFS for stream trout: do you limit yourself to braid (possibly fluorocarbon) or manage nylon without damage to the spool? Just want to get some statistics on this subject. Thanks in advanc...

Unless you're getting money back from Daiwa each time you buy a reel, I think you mean "loyalty"
…would be nice 🤗

I see no reason to be “loyal” to a brand.
Get what you need, want, like, can afford…

Re: Anyone have any experience with the ABU Salty Stage Concept Free?

I have one purchased from a big international vendor with a JP homepage... Was pretty cheap incl. shipping. Yes, it comes with an extra spool. At least when bought in Japan. I think it is a good reel for the price. It looks good on its own but may be difficult to match with a rod (on color). Solid c...

Re: Best spool for Millionaire (the 103, 34mm platform)

ZPI NRC001M is good in that reel (mine is a monoblock) and goes as low as in other reels.
Personally, I mostly use a KTF neo finesse, fluorocarbon line and 3-5 gram lures.

Re: Tapered Floro Leader, Eh Sunline?

I have a number of these leaders, which I purchased for fly fishing.
But, yes, it makes sense with the thinner diameter proximally at the line connection and the thicker part near the lure. I may use some of the leaders that way for ultralight lure fishing for large pike.
