Re: Project T 22: 2 new Tatulas

How's the casting distance on these? Do they feel choked off? I don’t think so. I finally tried a tatula and think the distance is fine. If anything, I find that the latest tatula requires a bit more care than the effortless free floating sv spools in zillions, etc, particularly against the wind. T...

Re: Studio Composite rods

Transworld and Paradox series? Not sure where you’re looking but they have lots of bass rods all the way down to M to MH-type rods (1 to 3 power). To me the 7606-5 fishes more like a USDM X-heavy cover flip/frog/punch type rod and it’s on the extreme light end of the swimbait rod spectrum. It CAN l...

Re: JDM Outside Weight Crank

OSP Blitz Appreciate it Cal. I hated to ask such a simple question, but could NOT find out what brand it was. For some reason I thought it was deps or Evergreen. Either way I'd still be excited to hear what anyone had experienced with the US SPRO version or the JDM. They are quite the pricey crankb...

Re: Studio Composite rods

These rods are awesome. I have a paradox 8 foot 6 in 4.5 power and a 7’3 in 5 power. They are tough as nails, simple, sleek, and sensitive. I’ve been planning to write an in depth review on the 8’6. I never thought I’d use such a long rod for bass fishing. I had bought it for snook. But I took it ba...

Re: Fav small cranks for smokin and burning?!

Look into the Lucky Craft lineup. They have several baits that would work well. My favorites are BDS1, LC 0.5, 0.7, 1.0, SKT mini. BDS is a fat little squarebill that goes everywhere and deflects off everything. Dives to 3’ or so and burns nicely. Glad they brought these back! The LC series is all ...

Re: DRT rods, tho

I’m not into business, sales and the like, but just on the surface the drt business model does not make sense to me. They sell their rods at premium swimbait rod prices, but their rod prices are not out of the ordinary compared to other makers. It’s just that they sell only a handful every blue moon...

Right on the blanks themselves.
Just looked at TW. Slick looking rods. Hints of jdm design all over those sticks. I look forward to hearing more about performance too. At that price, these might be bangers.

Re: Pick one Lose Two

Oh man; so sorry to hear. I’m diving every time though. Usually takes a minute for a combo to sink. If you have cork handles, they can even float a bit. Where are you fishing in FL where it’s deep? Most lakes around my ways are fairly shallow with deeps spots here and there. I have a pair of glasses...

Re: Tulala Monstruo 71

Intriguing rod, but those untrimmed threads on the reel seat make me cringe. It’s hard to deny that there’s a certain amount of ugly on most (not all) Tulala offerings. It’s their style. For me it sort of works like the way a fox body mustang does it for some. That touch of ugly even seems to persi...

Re: JDM Site Missing Evergreen Brand

I noticed the same thing but with a different site a couple days ago. Suddenly there was no evergreen on shim reels. Not one of the main steam sites, but it always had a great EG selection. Was bummed. Seems strange if this would be related, but for what it’s worth.

Re: 2023 Megabass F4st-69RSDti Craftsman Pride Edition

The white python II coming out after this one looks pretty cool too. They kind of modernized the locknut and rear portion of the handle for a mix of new and old. Fun idea for sure.

Re: Tulala Monstruo 71

Tulala obviously does not get alot of play around here. Maybe is has somthing to do with a squirrel busting a nut as it's moniker, or the aforementioned rod weight Very overlooked rod builder/brand amongst US enthusiasts, imo. I don't have the rod you mentioned, but I have the Harmonix Staccato 78 ...

Re: Do you plan on buying the iPhone of reels aka the Z Limitbreaker?

I voted yes. Eventually. Why? My addiction to tackle is real. I’m a sucker. And although I discovered the Z only after the later release of the ‘limited’ models, I really took to the platform. Also, since I’ve expressed skepticism about downloadable upgrades doing squat, I figure i should see for my...
