Re: Best Topwater Lure of the Year, 2023

This is bigger topwater / wake bait territory, but I generated some big bites with the Megabass Gorham 147 this year. If you can find some skinny water where they're active, watch out and hold tight. They smoked it. I just picked one of these up and am very excited to get it on the water under the ...

Re: Best Topwater Lure of the Year, 2023

I've had a lot of fun and caught a lot of fish on the new 2023 Megabass Baby Pop-X BFS. Big bluegill, largemouth, smallmouth, and spots have all eaten it. Paired up with the P5 Pop-X Stick and the 23 Conquest BFS, loads of fun! Interesting. Pop X is already super tiny, and I assume Pop X BFS is eve...

Re: OG tatula vs New tatula rod

Do you have the 23 Tatula Elite as a comparison or the solid silver older model? The new 23 Elite rods are a pretty significant improvement over their predecessors. I'm awfully impressed with the new Tatula XT's for that matter, extremely impressive for a $100 rod.

Re: Need a dedicated blade/bladed jig rod (mega/loomis/shim)

The Megabass Valkyrie 7'1" MH is an amazing bladed jig rod/spinner bait rod. It's definitely one of my favorites and it's soft enough to run braid as a main line. I know you wrote "dedicated" but this Valkyrie is also a great full sized Vixen walking bait type rod, and of course does great with 3/8 ...

Re: Shorter MH/H

Thank you for your response, it just took me some time to figure out what matters most to be and therefor what a good follow up question would be... So hear goes: 1. which rod has a wider sweet spot, or throws a wider range of weights? 2. Which rod do you think is the more versatile rod overall if ...

Re: Casting Ned Rig rod

I like the Daiwa Steez AGS 6'8" light for Ned's. I have a Phenix K2 713 ML but I use it mostly for small jerkbaits. The Steez AGS 6'8" light has the "megatop" and is an excellent casting ned rod. I prefer to fish ned rigs on spinning however, and the Steez 6'10" "The Ned" is by far my favorite ligh...

Re: Evergreen Flat Force Leaking

I'd suspect a manufacturing defect here as mine have been fantastic and highly productive. Yeah I am literally swimming these in open water and maybe skimming over sand, and this being a new bait I suspect definitely a manufacturing defect. Does Evergreen have a form to fill out like MB does? I tal...

Re: Evergreen Flat Force Leaking

I've beat the heck out to the EG Flat Force cranks since they released them. I've never had a water intrusion issue with them after so many fish catches, banging off wood, rocks, etc. I'd suspect a manufacturing defect here as mine have been fantastic and highly productive.

Re: Any recommendations?

I would absolutely get the new Megabass Destroyer P5 US Javelin. It's a fantastic in between type cranking rod, but very versatile in general. I've thrown everything from the Deep Six to square bills successfully. You will be very happy with the new Javelin.

Bronzefly, thx to TT for getting it shipped so quick too... should have the rod tomorrow and wasn't thinking it would get out of the shop that quick.
You're welcome Dan, thank you for the order. We try hard to ship quickly. Really excited to see what you think of the Ultima!

Well I just ordered one... as always contributing to the TackleTrap retirement fund. Paid for 2 day so should have by end of week.
I ordered the 7'0 ML Spinning.
 Thank you!!!

I haven't fished with this one yet, so very curious on your thoughts and comparisons.

Re: Have you preordered a mb p5 destroyer?

Has anyone used the new Flyssa? If so, please share your thoughts. Yes indeed. I'm not throwing 1/16 oz northern style hair jigs on it yet, but no doubt it will be an excellent choice for that application by design. It handles spy baits like a champ, is very capable with lighter Ned rigs, and the s...
