Re: What Other Species Have You Caught by Accident?
Don't know why I didn't remember to add alligators to my earlier list. Down on Seminole , Orange/Lochloosa and Stick Marsh, those 2 footers will absolutely demolish a topwater. You hardly ever see them coming, either. I've pulled at least 10 of them into the boat to get my pop-r back over the years....

Re: What Other Species Have You Caught by Accident?
Sauger, walleye, saugeye, yellow perch, wiper, striper, white bass, sand(yellow) bass, catfish, jack(pickerel), trout, pike, BIG bluegill, shallcracker, BIG crappie, snapping turtle, various snakes, blue heron, osprey, etc, etc, etc. And I forgot about a BiG bowfin that I thought might be a Lake Oc...

Re: What Other Species Have You Caught by Accident?
Sorry about those big birds, hoohoorjoo! I once had a great blue heron fly low over me from behind to try to grab my walking topwater. I can't imagine trying to unhook a big heron or an osprey! My dad and I got the heron loose, but we had to cover the osprey with a big towel and take it to a fish a...

Re: Any Experience With This Gomexus Carbon Handle?
Aren't Daiwa and Shimano knobs the same? Only a 0.5 mm different in post length with the same diameter? I've seen Daiwa RCS knobs on Shimanos going back years and more recently Shimano power knobs on modern Daiwas replacing the modern thin ick knobs. Yes, Daiwa posts are longer, so 2 bearings or a ...

Re: St Croix Seviin reels
On another forum this reel is being pimped HARD. The admin of the site is making the dubious claim that St. Croix designed the reel and owns the tooling, even though it's a Chinese OEM reel like everything else Banax. Those of us that know better were quick to point out that it's a Banax with a dif...

I like the look of these rods. I'm still waiting on more reviews before I buy one, though.

Re: Was Braided Line a Game Changer for You?
I use white braid a lot. I just color the last 5-6' of the line with a black sharpie and it hasnt affected my catch rate with bottom contact baits.

Re: Bass Fishing Not Very Popular?
Sadly, forums have declined with the advance of social media. This is due to "instant gratification" that most of the media platforms offer today. The guitar forum you frequent is likely populated by older guys who don't do as much modern social media. Also, we experienced a crash(actually, 2 crashe...

Re: All new steez sv tw
This one has my attention. I just may be an early adopter of this latest Steez iteration. It looks like they didn't move away from the original spool width that has been around since the TDX introduction, but went with a smaller diameter. This reel appears to have spool compatibility with the 1st ge...

Re: Looking for Telescopic Bass Rod
The Daiwa B.B.B. is available in 6-6 and 6-10 models. They are under $200, if you can find them. I've seem them on ebay and Amazon in the past. Aliexpress would be another option for something cheaper, but still decent quality. I got a 66MLF 2 pc spinning rod from there recently that was way above ...
