RCS SV700S

I can't say how much I love this spool. I've been running it in my Alphas CT for a bit now and love how good it is for short range fishing. For what it's worth, I used to own an Air Stream Custom but sold it because the CT with that spool suited my style of fishing better. With the factory bearings ...

I managed to snag a couple, 6.3 on the left and a 7.2 on the right with a RCS SV700S spool.

I been doing good on bluegill this past year. I got a few surprise perch bites. 10-14in perch really bend a rod.
Yeah they do. Rock bass are also formidable on UL gear. Hooked into a lot of those perching on Lake St Clair this year. They seem to fight almost as hard as smallmouth.

Re: Reel With clicker

What will you be trolling for. Not Daiwa-Shimano, but ABU Amb 6000 sizes... I wish Abu still made the 6600 and 7000 in a lever drag. So nice having 3 settings. Free spool, bite, and fight. The drag setup is far different than your usual Ambassadeur. There is one drag washer on the drive shaft and a...

Re: Reel With clicker

Daiwa Sealines are pretty much the standard used on charters that dot the Great Lakes and they come with a clicker. They can be had with or without line counters as well.

Re: Alphas sv tw with some line capacity

I will hold off till I see some honest reviews. Ct has been such a great performing reel for me that it is hard to imagine this new twing version beating it. Same here, I love my CTs. One of them has the SV700S spooled with 8lb J-braid, I was out yesterday throwing Z-Vibers for perch. Those baits a...

Re: Alphas sv tw with some line capacity

Any word on price yet? I'm thinking this will be of a similar price to the Alphas Air TW and not the Alphas CT. Either way, the Alphas is my favorite platform so I'll probably get it anyway.

Re: Alphas/pixy spool options

Well, just got off the water with my Alphas CT. Got skunked but had a great time just being out in the unusually warm weather. With my SV700S spool I was throwing 1.6g Eurotackle Z-Viber lipless cranks around the docks at a local marina. Swinging for the fences I was able to get the Z-Viber a good 3...

Re: Ice Fishing

Lake St Clair should be really good this year. Caught a lot of jumbos during summer in the shallows, November is when the shore action really gets going. We typically don't have good ice until late December or early January, but I'll be out there jigging once it is.

Glass rod for finesse?

I've been searching, and searching, and searching for a glass L or UL to add to my stable of trout rods. I'm one of those heathens that likes the whippy action and want one to pair with one of my BFS reels for trout. I haven't found anything in the way of pre-built but did find blanks from Ameriglas...
