Re: Daiwa SS Air TW

It looks like Daiwa removed it from their site, strange. Maybe they had to update it? Anyway, it uses a "new" braking system they referred to as Magforce SS. How it works or what it may look like, I have no clue. I wonder if it's a different take on SV boost? The reel looked interesting, almost like...

Re: Daiwa Steez ct with slp works 700s g1 spool

I ran the AMO for a bit in my Millionaire CT but went back to the SLP 700S. It's pretty similar to the Roro but I find the SV brake to be pretty good for stream fishing as well in that particular reel as well as the Alphas CT. I usually run my brake at 1 or 2 on the Millionaire with both spools, the...

Re: Daiwa Pixy vs BFS

Man, love those Tiemco Fenwick rods. I have a FS53CL-3J Undercut Bank on order from Fishing Shop Kiwi. It'll match up well with my Ambassadeurs. Production is supposed to start back up in March according to them. It was $198 a few days ago, and shipping will probably be $20 to $30 or whatever is go...

Re: Daiwa Steez ct with slp works 700s g1 spool

It'll work great with that spool. I run it in my Millionaire CT and it's great for trout. Your lower limit will be ~2g give or take dependent on the rod used. The spool weighs 8.14g without the bearing and pin, not super light but definitely in the BFS realm. Run about 40 to 50yd of 6lb or 8lb braid...

Re: Censorship

He paid for the combo in question...I was making a separate point about free stuff they push, which is mainly St. Croix, Strike King, Seaguar, and Okuma. Oh yeah that's right, I misunderstood you, my bad. There are plenty of cool members on there but the staff and ownership are very full of themsel...

Re: Censorship

I'm pretty sure I know the combo in question :). I also know about the 'tard....I just didn't know why he changed his name. I frown on the mods pushing stuff they get free and would never pay for. You have blue collar mods using cheap combos with tatsu. I don't even know if he got the combo free. H...

Re: How do you set up your Alphas SV TW

While I don't own this reel, I made my Millionaire CT better for distance by adding another shim to the inductor. This gives the inductor less travel so it doesn't extend as far into the magnet assembly thus taming the braking profile a little bit.

Re: Every new Abu looking the same is incredibly dull and boring

I wish they'd bring back the Morrum. An updated ZX 1600 Mag with a high speed offset gearbox would be awesome. Pure Fishing has pretty much been saying no to anything Sweden made outside of 5500/6500 rehashes. They feel the future is in the Revo :( I’m not sure how much Pure fishing even can do to ...

Re: Skeet Reese goes to Kast King?

Keep in mind a lot of the pros aren't gear nerds like we are. To them, it's a tool to do a job. To us, it's that and much more. They take it out of the box, fish it till it breaks, then buy another. Sometimes they might get an outing out of that piece of gear or they may get multiple seasons. For a...

Re: Censorship

I know the site in question. I called out one of the mods for trying to sell a rig of his, used mind you, for far more than one could purchase the exact same rig brand new. My post was promptly deleted and he PMed me some nasty stuff and issued a warning for breaking the rules. Whichever rule I brok...

Re: Calcutta Conquest Monster Drive

I know the Antares MD is for larger fish, so I would assume the Calcutta MD would be as well. I'm thinking we may see a new Calcutta Conquest BFS this year since stocks are mostly dried up of the '17 model as of late.
